I was talking with a small convenience store retailer the other day about Palm POS (Point of Sale) and brought up the topic of EMV (Europay, MasterCard, and Visa). I was really shocked to discover that despite of an amazing amount of coverage biTy many sources she had not heard of EMV, and the implications it has for retailers. Although she had seen the new 'chip' cards, she was not fully aware of how EMV would impact her business, and was perhaps thinking the she would benefit from the larger retailers figuring it out.
